Hello You! Thanks for Your Interest. So… What Do You Want to Know?

Cary Scott

Well, my name is Cary Scott and I’m currently a user interface designer and front end architect with over nine years of experience creating websites with over fifteen years working in the digital arts industry. I am a specialist in standards compliant coding, search engine optimization (SEO), and social media marketing. In layman’s terms, I create clean, usable, and highly visible websites that simply work the way they should.

When I’m not busy building websites in my small studio just across the river from Washington, DC, you can find me biking the Mount Vernon Trail, lounging at the local coffeehouse, and spending time with my beautiful wife, and our brand new baby girl.

Hand-Crafting Intelligent Websites, with built-in Social Media Marketing.

With the incredible growth of social media outlets like Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and YouTube over the last few years, brands both large and small are discovering the importance of using these sites to better understand and connect with their customers and clients online. My approach is to incorporate a bespoke marketing solution into every site I build. This solution will allow consumers to connect to your brand using their favorite method, whether it’s through search engines, networking sites, IM, SMS, email or through the company’s own blog. Below are just a handful of the social media sites in which you can connect with me.

My Other Projects, and Hobbies

Anyone that knows me, knows that I always have a million ideas running through my head. Some of these ideas have spawned into various side projects.

Mudsugar Magazine is a project I started back in 2005. My vision was to promote and support Washington, DC’s underground art and music. In hindsight, the scale and focus of this project became too great. I had somehow let things spin off course of the original plan and It quickly became overwhelming, and very hard to contain. The site has been in limbo since July of 2007, however, I plan to reincarnate the magazine later this year focusing specifically on underground arts.

The Give Heart Project is a non-profit collaborative of creative artists, graphic designers, website designers & developers, and social media marketing professionals. The goal is to raise money and awareness of local charities, targeting non-mainstream donations using social media, guerrilla, and other experimental marketing techniques. This project will launch later this year.

I also dabble in photography. Clicking on any thumbnail below will take you to my photoblog.
